May 2026 Market Report

by Claire Chivington

The real estate market continued to gain momentum throughout May in both Lancaster and York counties. As the spring market remained in full swing, buyers and sellers alike experienced encouraging trends across the region.

One of the most notable changes was a decrease in the average time homes spent on the market. Well-priced properties continued to attract strong interest, leading to quicker sales and increased competition among buyers.

Home values also remained strong, providing positive news for homeowners considering selling. The sustained demand for housing has helped support property values throughout both counties, creating favorable conditions for sellers looking to maximize their return.

Additionally, inventory saw a slight increase compared to the previous month. While buyers still face competition in many price ranges, the growth in available listings offers more opportunities and choices than we've seen in recent months.

Whether you're thinking about buying your first home, upgrading to a new property, or selling your current home, understanding local market trends is key to making informed decisions. Our team is here to help guide you through every step of the process.

If you're considering buying or selling in Lancaster or York County, reach out to our team today to discuss your goals and create a plan that works for you.
